Lip Blushing
What is Lip Blushing?
Lip Blush is a type of Semi-Permanent makeup where a colour is blushed into the lips to create the illusion of bigger, plumper and more youthful lips. Unlike the traditional lip SPMU treatments where you may be used to seeing bold results, lip blush leaves a natural flush of colour on the lips. The pigment of your choice is deposited into the lips using a small needle, leaving you with beautifully blushed lips. Add a swipe of clear lip gloss or lip butter and you are perfectly plumped and ready for the day!
How do I know what colour lip blush to choose?
Your SPMU artist will help you with your colour choice, at your consultation you will be shown a chart with all the colours available to choose from and what might work well with your skin/eye/hair colouring and undertones. I also have lip stains that match healed results, allowing you to try out your new lip colour before the service to ensure you are truly happy with your chosen shade before going ahead with the treatment.
Does Lip Blushing hurt?
SPMU treatments do not hurt but can be uncomfortable, numbing cream is available for use and my aim is always to make you feel as comfortable as possible during the treatment.
How long Does Lip Blushing take?
Your treatment can take up to 2-2.5 hours depending on the size of your lips and how well your skin is taking the pigment.
How long does Lip Blushing last?
Once healed your results will last 2-3 years after a top up 8 weeks after your initial treatment. Regular treatments at 18 months - 2 years apart are recommended to keep your lip blush looking its best.
Is there any down time with Lip Blush?
Its normal for your lips to swell after treatment but this should settle after 24 hours. Your lips may feel dry and tight for the first few days. Lip blush is a two step process and its important to be patient while your lips heal and follow the aftercare advice given to you at your appointment, at first your lips may appear like the colour is uneven but don't panic, the colour will fade 50-60% during the first healing process and this fade will be a gradual process.
